Have Your Dream Wedding at The Barn at Sunset Ranch in CO!

Bride and Groom share their ceremony with friends and family

With the invention of Pinterest, barn weddings quickly became all the rage. We had wildflowers in mason jars, hand-me-down decorations, antique dinnerware, and barns without air conditioning or modern plumbing. While most of these aspects are still pretty classic, we’ve come a long way from the original barn parties of 2011. Rather than have to deal with sweaty barns and disgusting port-a-potties, we now have gorgeous, climate-controlled spaces that give us that rustic aesthetic without making us feel like we’ve just spent the day wrestling cattle. If you love rustic weddings and want a space to ensure you still feel like royalty, I would love to tell you about The Barn at Sunset Ranch. This beautiful space gives you the wedding of your dreams.

About The Barn at Sunset Ranch

Jim and Jayme Greenfield created the Barn at Sunset Ranch after they helped their children plan their weddings. As they went through the process, they saw different trends. They decided they wanted to create a space where couples could have their dream wedding without compromising comfort. They searched the country before buying a 5,000-square-foot space near Mount Princeton. The Barn is designed with comfort in mind. It provides air conditioning year-round and has finished bathrooms and dressing areas. Just outside of The Barn are breathtaking views of the mountain, peaceful meadows, and babbling brooks. This serene environment has won recognition as one of the best wedding venues in the Rockies. In one visit, you’ll quickly understand why.

Details of the Grounds

Most couples have an outdoor ceremony at The Barn. The venue has created a space outside the building that takes full advantage of the breathtaking mountains. This area has been cleared and marked with a stone pathway. An arbor and a stage have mountains behind them, and wheeled wooden benches seat your guests. A trail leads from The Barn to the clearing. You’ll enter through a wooden door frame for a dramatic entrance and walk down an aisle the venue has carefully constructed. In case of inclement weather, you’ll be able to move the ceremony inside.

The inside of The Barn is the perfect party space for your reception. The room is rustic yet refined, with vaulted wooden ceilings, natural wood support beams, soft white walls, and an exposed brick accent wall. Bistro lights and elegant chandeliers illuminate the space. The Barn features a space in the corner with a metal wall that tends to be a popular spot for a dessert table. The open room allows you to create the layout of your choice, and the sealed concrete floors are ideal for dancing late into the night. You’ll have a mixture of long and round tables to seat your guests.

Outside The Barn, there’s a paved patio with firepits, bistro lights, and games. The patio is a favorite spot for cocktail hours. This area features The Pour Trailer. This converted camping trailer will deliver beers and cocktails to your guests as you prepare for the reception.

The venue has dressing rooms for you to get ready for the day. These areas are spacious and stay true to the Western theme of the Barn. You’ll have access to comfortable seating and large mirrors to relax and put on the finishing touches.

Key Details

For both your wedding and your reception, you’ll be able to host up to 200 guests.

The owners of The Barn know what it takes to make a wedding extraordinary. The Barn is beautiful against the mountainous backdrop. The rocks around the building mark off the area while still looking natural, and the exterior of The Barn is lit up by warm bistro lights. The accents stay true to the rustic theme. You’ll have barrels as serving tables and corrugated metal firepits. The bathrooms have a natural stone finish. The venue will work with you to ensure your decorations make the area feel unique for your day.

Photography Opportunities

The Barn at Sunset Ranch has plenty of spots for your pictures. The mountains are a gorgeous backdrop for both group photos and couple portraits. The dark wood of The Barn is another great background. The Barn has distressed blue barn doors, and it is the ideal spot to get a fabulous picture of your dress before it’s time to put it on. They also have an antique truck on display that matches the venue’s color scheme. The thoughtfully designed patio is one of the best spaces to get pictures of your guests during cocktail hour. You’ll be able to get plenty of photos of your friends and family laughing and celebrating your love.

Wedding Details

The Barn will care for you to ensure your day is everything you’ve wanted. The parking lot and the venue are handicap accessible, so none of your guests have to miss out on the fun. The Barn has finished bathrooms, year-round climate control, and parking attendants. You’ll receive a list of preferred vendors to plan your ideal menu for the day. Leading up to your wedding, you’ll have a one-hour walkthrough to ensure everything is up to your standards. The Barn does suggest you use a wedding coordinator. They’ll take care of deep cleaning following the event but ask that you leave the venue as you found it. You may want to recruit some family and friends to avoid stressing after the party.
