Best time of year to elope in Breckenridge
Breckenridge offers the wonderful advantage of year-round elopement possibilities, making it truly special. During the winter and early spring, you'll be surround by the beauty of frozen lakes and snow-clad mountains. And when summer arrives, the landscape transforms with vibrant wildflowers, sunny days, flowing waterfalls, and open 4WD trails waiting for adventure. As fall quickly approaches (typically from the latter part of September), the aspen leaves create a breathtaking tapestry of yellows and oranges, creating a stunning backdrop for your elopement.
If I had to choose, my favorite time to elope in Breckenridge is between mid-June and late-September. That gives you the warmest temperatures and the most location options for your elopement!
Where to elope in Breckenridge
I highly suggest choosing a weekday (Monday-Thursday) for your elopement day(s). These locations below are TINY sliver of the magic here in Breckenridge. Once you inquire with me, we can go over your vision and I can properly guide you from there :)

Sapphire Point Overlook
Sapphire Point is arguably the most popular place to elope in Breckenridge. An easy pplication to buy a permit for the ceremony site, it’s also the only location on this list that you can reserve for a specific date and time. The mountain views are beautiful, and the ceremony site itself is super accessible. There are also multiple locations extremly close to here to explore afterwards.
Boreas Pass Road
A scenic dirt road connecting Breckenridge to Como via Highway 285, offers an adventurous route. It's best to use a 4WD with clearance as a sedan might be uncomfortable. The pass summit leads to various hiking trails, and provides and escape from crowds. In September, it becomes a favored spot in Summit County to watch the stunning aspen foliage change.
