Amanda and Trent’s Ashcroft Ghost Town Aspen, CO, elopement was down-to-earth and western-inspired! They’ve spent a lot of time together on spontaneous adventures, exploring mining trails and ghost towns. When we discussed possible ideas in the Aspen area for their elopement, I suggested Ashcroft Ghost Town, and they immediately knew it was perfect.
Amanda and Trent are outdoor enthusiasts living in Black Hawk, Colorado (and unbelievable fly fisherman—check them out @mountaintroutphotography and @ramble.on.rhapsody). Their vision for their elopement was to keep it low-key and intimate which is exactly what they did. They were drawn to the idea of a quiet ceremony surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains, followed by a nice dinner at a nearby location. Come see more of this Aspen elopement—I think you’re going to love it!
Amanda and Trent got ready separately at The Ritz-Carlton in Aspen, Colorado. Amanda wore a stunning full-length lace gown with long sleeves by BHDL—perfect for the crisp Colorado weather. She completed her look with a light-colored cowboy hat and the same boots she wore to her engagement session. Her florals by Double Dutch Floral were perfect for their fall elopement, with blush, burgundy, and cream tones!
Trent looked sharp in a tailored brown suit, paired with a bold burgundy tie that added the perfect pop of rich color. He finished his look with a matching cowboy hat, tying the western-inspired theme together. From the photos they sent me beforehand, I knew they’d knock it out of the park—and they did!
After getting ready and sharing a first look, Amanda, Trent and I headed out into the mountains. There they shared private vows to one another. They wanted a special place to say their private vows. The location was incredibly intimate with the most stunning snow-peaked mountains.
After their private vows and portraits, we headed back for their intimate Ashcroft Ghost Town elopement in Aspen, CO. With only about 11 people in attendance, the ceremony was incredibly intimate. Sadly, Amanda’s father passed away in 2020, and Trent’s mother passed away when he was a child. It was difficult not having them their for their special day. However, one of their best friends, Dexter, officiated the wedding, adding a personal and meaningful touch to their ceremony.
After their ceremony, we took full advantage of the beautiful Ashcroft Ghost Town for photos! The historic setting made the perfect backdrop for their western-inspired elopement. Moments like these remind me of the joy of connecting with couples who truly feel like friends. It’s always a blessing when that happens! You can see the deep love Amanda and Trent share in every single photo from their day.
After their ceremony and portraits, we headed to Woody Creek Tavern for an intimate dinner and drinks to celebrate their Ashcroft Ghost Town elopement. Amanda and Trent wanted to create a story they could share with friends and family who couldn’t be there, which we absolutely accomplished! It was the perfect way to showcase their day—from the intimate ceremony at the ghost town to the cozy celebration with great food and drinks at Woody Creek Tavern.
To top it all off, these two are heading to Patagonia in February for their honeymoon, where they’ll go fly fishing—what an incredible adventure! Getting to know Amanda and Trent was truly one of the biggest honors I’ve had. I felt like a part of their family, which is a true testament to how warmly they treat the people around them.
If you’re planning your own Ashcroft Ghost Town elopement in Aspen, I hope Amanda and Trent’s special day gives you all the inspiration you need! It was such an honor to explore Ashcroft Ghost Town with these two and be a part of their intimate day.
