Horseback Hoosier Pass Elopement in Colorado

Bride and groom with their horses during their Horseback elopement at Hoosier Pass in Colorado

If I had to choose three words to describe Rachel and Gabe’s Hoosier Pass elopement in Colorado, they would be intentional, authentic, and intimate. Everything about this day felt so special. Rachel was one of the happiest and most excited brides ever. It was just so dang cute. Gabe was incredibly sweet but very quiet. With that being said, you could tell how much love he had for Rachel just by the way he looked at her. If you’re looking for some horseback elopement inspiration, then stay tuned because this will give you all the ideas!

Getting Ready For Their Intimate Hoosier Pass Elopement in Colorado

I always send my clients questionnaires so I can get to know them better and understand what they’re looking for when it comes to their elopements. When I asked Gabe and Rachel to describe their perfect wedding day, they said that having a nice, slow morning getting ready, spending time with loved ones, and taking it all in would be their perfect day. Gabe and Rachel nailed their vision because that’s exactly what they chose to do.

They ended up renting the most beautiful and spacious mountain home Airbnb. It offered scenic views, rustic decor, and was large enough to sleep their family as well, who were here for the elopement. Rachel wore the most beautiful dress, and her hair was styled in an intricate braid with small yellow and white flowers throughout by b.renhair and makeup by Cazmetix. It was truly the perfect look for a mountain elopement, especially paired with her cowgirl boots!

Rachel & Gabe’s First Look

After getting ready back at their mountain house Airbnb, Rachel and Gabe shared a first look outside. You could tell just how happy these two were to see each other. I also love how they incorporated their dog, Outlaw, into every part of their day. From getting ready, their first look, and their ceremony and portraits as well! After their first look, we made our way over to the horses to head up the mountain for their Hoosier Pass elopement ceremony.

An Intimate Hoosier Pass Elopement Ceremony in Colorado

After their first look, we hiked up for their Hoosier Pass elopement ceremony. Rachel’s parents own the horses that they rode in on, so it all felt very intentional and authentic. Rachel also grew up around horses. It was so special to be a part of their elopement and watch them and their family celebrate their special day, one which felt truly like them.

Another special thing about Rachel and Gabe’s Hoosier Pass elopement was that her father officiated their ceremony. At one point, there wasn’t a dry eye (not even mine, haha!). I just loved how intimate and special this was, and that everyone got to experience the views and magic of the Colorado mountains with Rachel and Gabe.

Gabe & Rachel’s Horseback Hoosier Pass Elopement Portraits in the Colorado Mountains

After their ceremony, they rode off on horseback for an intimate picnic and portraits in the mountains. I love how they brought a few beers, cheese, crackers, and some meats to share together and take in the views of Hoosier Pass. Rachel and Gabe also mentioned how, when they envision their perfect wedding day, they just want it to feel natural and go with however the wind blows them. They did just that, and it couldn’t have been any more perfect than what it was.

Another aspect Rachel and Gabe were looking for when it came to planning an elopement was for it to feel stress-free. I think their day perfectly reflects how choosing a more intimate elopement provides that stress-free experience. Rachel and Gabe were able to really focus on themselves and their love, and celebrate with their closest friends and family. It doesn’t get any more special than that.
