Crested Butte Micro Wedding on Super 8

Taylor and Josh are both Doctors of Physical Therapy, and they somehow balance being outdoorsy, travel-loving adventurers with being a foodie + music-lover duo. They’re the kind of couple who can spend all day hiking a mountain and then finish the night at a concert or hunting down the best local bites. Truly, my kind of people. A Crested Butte micro wedding made so much sense.

They first met during DPT school, right in the middle of peak COVID, when everyone was stuck in small pods of ten or fewer. One day, they got assigned as lab partners, and Josh apparently wasn’t thrilled about it… Meanwhile, Taylor thought he was the cutest human alive and was basically living her best life. From there, they slowly drifted from “forced school partners” to study buddies to friends. Eventually shared their first kiss on a campus swing.

This day felt extra special because I’d already connected with them a year earlier during a styled shoot in Rocky Mountain National Park. We stayed close after that, so being asked to film their wedding on Super 8 felt like the sweetest full-circle moment.

A Sunny Fall Micro Wedding in Crested Butte

Their day in Crested Butte was one of those impossibly perfect fall days. The aspens were glowing, the mountains looked straight out of a postcard, and every time I turned around, there was another moment begging to be filmed. They kept their guest list small, with just their closest people. And let’s talk about Taylor’s dress. Spectacular doesn’t even cover it. It moved so beautifully. Their first dance was a big deal for them, and honestly, it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day.

Taylor & Josh’s Super 8 Wedding Film

While Super 8 was the heart of how we documented their wedding, I brought my camera along to capture a few stills that help round out the story. Both pieces together feel like the most complete version of their day.
