Morgan and Maity’s Alaska helicopter elopement is one that will live in my head for the rest of time! It was magical, awe-inspiring, and simply amazing! It was truly one of the best experiences of my life, so I can’t image how they felt eloping in Alaska with the most gorgeous views.
Getting Ready Together at Their A-Frame Cabin
The first part of their elopement was spent getting ready at their beautiful A-frame cabin. Both Morgan and Maity wrote vows to one another in their foil-pressed vow books, which they got from Etsy! It felt so intimate and like the perfect, slow morning before heading off for their Alaska helicopter elopement.
Morgan wore a beautiful, flowy, and ethereal elopement dress by Daci Gowns, and her makeup was done by Glam by Cathy. Maity kept it classic with his suit, which complemented Morgan’s look perfectly.
Morgan + Maity’s Magical Alaska Helicopter Elopement at Knik Glacier
After getting ready at their cabin, Morgan, Maity, and I boarded their helicopter from Outbound Heli and headed for Knik Glacier. It was their first time in not only a helicopter but also at a glacier, so the experience for all of us was just magical.
Knik Glacier was breathtaking from both above and ground level. You can see cracks and crevasses in the glacier’s surface and distant mountain peaks. It’s wild how peaceful it is out there and how surprisingly quiet it. If you listen closely, you can hear the subtle creaking and groaning of the ice as it slowly moves. You can even FEEL the ice drop beneath your feet. Occasionally, there’s the distant sound of ice cracking or the echo of a falling chunk of ice, reminding you of the glacier’s constant, slow movement.
It was truly the most romantic and intimate location I could ever imagine exchanging vows at. The air was crisp and cold, and if you reach down to touch the ice, it’s hard and smooth, with a slight texture from tiny ice crystals. The air was incredibly fresh, and we took a bit of glacial ice with us to make cocktails with later!! It’s wild that this is some of the purest water on earth.
