A Snowy Sapphire Point Overlook Proposal

This Sapphire Point Overlook proposal came together in one of my favorite ways. Jake found me on Instagram and reached out with a clear plan and good energy right from the start. The fun twist is that Sheridan already knew he was going to propose. There was no “act normal even though something huge is about to happen” vibe. Honestly? I kind of loved that from the beginning.

Because Sheridan knew what was coming, everything felt calmer and more intentional. There was no pressure to catch a “perfect” reaction or force a moment that didn’t feel natural. Instead, they got to be fully present together. It turned the proposal into something more about the moment than the shock factor. And as someone who’s seen a lot of proposals, I’ll say this confidently: knowing doesn’t ruin the magic. If anything, it lets it breathe.

They chose Sapphire Point Overlook, knowing full well it’s usually busy. But they trusted the timing, rolled with the plan, and went for it anyway. And somehow, magically, it was quiet. A rare quiet. Jake got down on one knee, Sheridan was all smiles, and the whole thing felt relaxed, genuine, and very them. Non-traditional in the best way, and frankly, those are always my favorites.

A Snow-Covered Sapphire Point Overlook Proposal (Without the Crowd)

If you’ve ever been to Sapphire Point, you know how rare it is to have it feel quiet. Like, actually quiet. So when Sheridan and Jake stepped out and realized there wasn’t an audience forming behind them, it felt extra special. Snow on the ground, mountains in the distance, that peaceful winter stillness—Colorado really showed up for them.

The day was snowy(ish) in the best way. Not a full-on blizzard, not totally clear skies—just enough snow to make everything feel cozy and romantic, and the perfect overcast for dreamy winter couples photos.

What I loved most was how natural it all felt. It was just two people who were really excited to be there together. Sheridan was glowing, soaking it all in, and the whole proposal felt calm, meaningful, and so genuine. It’s not super common to get a private-feeling moment at Sapphire Point, which made this one feel even more special.

The Ring

Okay, we have to talk about the ring, because wow. Sheridan designed it herself with a hometown jeweler, Dallas Jameson, and the result was so unique. So stunning. You can see an up-close and personal video the designer shared here. You could tell how much thought went into it, and when she finally saw it on her hand in that snowy mountain setting, the excitement was very real.
