Getting Ready, a First Look, & Portraits in the San Juan Mountains
Torrie and Chauncey… I freaking love these two!! They woke up at the crack of dawn, getting ready on opposite sides of their Jeep before meeting for the sweetest first look. As the first light touched the mountain tops, they shared their private vows, surrounded by nothing but fresh air, big skies, and the quiet beauty of the San Juans. It was intimate, emotional, and the most perfect way to kick off their San Juan Mountains elopement.

From Western Hotel to Golden Hour: A San Juan Mountains Elopement
We met back at the Western Hotel in Ouray where Torrie and Chauncey got ready together. They shared those quiet, intimate moments before heading back out. The hotel’s charm made the perfect backdrop for a few portraits before we set off again into the mountains. By sunset, the San Juans gave us their best show. Golden light was spilling across the peaks while these two soaked up every second. That’s what it’s all about. I absolutely love this spot, and while I won’t share the exact location (as a Colorado elopement photographer, I try to keep these gems close so they stay just as stunning for the next couple), it’s truly one of the most magical places for a Colorado mountain elopement!
